The new Regulation on Consumer Arbitration Committees was published in the Official Gazette on 21.09.2022. With this Regulation, the old one published in the Official Gazette dated 27/11/2014 and numbered 29188 was nullified.

With the regulation, the completion of award procedure has been introduced. Accordingly, each party may request the completion of award, within fifteen days following the notification of the final award, in case an issue in the application was not evaluated.

On the other hand, in disputes with a value of less than 30,000 TL, application to consumer arbitration committees has become mandatory, but if the application is related to a single dispute and the subject of the dispute exceeds this monetary limit, it is possible to apply to the consumer arbitration committee if the party waives the amount exceeding the limit.

The provision regarding requesting additional information or documents in case of deficiency or inconsistency in the mandatory information required for the application and the provision governing the completion procedure will enter into force on January 1, 2023, while other provisions will enter into force on 1 October 2022.
